MediaTek Helio P60 – Best Powerful Mid-range Chipset from MediaTek?

MediaTek Helio P60 - Best Powerful Mid-range Chipset from MediaTek

If we talk about components of any smartphone then SoC is the major component which keeps so much importance. So today we gonna talk the all new MediaTek Helio P60 processor, the powerful SoC for mid-range smartphone. Although the company released this chipset few months ago. But from the source we can assume that this processor can give great competition to powerful SoCs like Snapdragon 636 or in fact Snapdragon 660. Now without wasting any time let’s talk about its Specifications.

Architecture

MediaTek Helio P6o comes with a Octa core CPU design divided by two different quad core clusters. Here are 4 high power cores which based on ARM Cortex-A73 design and rest 4 low power cores based on ARM Cortex-A53 design. The clock rate of this 8 cores is 2 GHz. Now the most interesting fact is that the design has been done through 12nm finfet process which will give you the best performance. The power efficiency will also be good and the heating issues will be seen less in this processor. In fact MediaTek Helio P60 SoC is one step ahead if we compare this with Snapdragon 630 or 660.

Memory

The all new MediaTek processor will get support LDDR4X ram where maximum frequency will be 1800 MHz and maximum ran capacity upto 8GB. But if any smartphone has LDDR3X ram then this processor will also get support and maximum frequency will be 933MHz and upto 4GB maximum ram capacity.

GPU

If we talk about GPU the MediaTek Helio P60 comes with ARM Mali-G72 Mp3 GPU that means users will get best gaming performance. With having 800MHz maximum GPU frequency and 2160X1080 resolution there will be no compromise in gaming, performance, efficiency.

AI

Here is one thing which is so much popular this time is AI or Machine Learning. Generally we can get this types of option in expensive smartphones and in some cases there are On-board Machine Learning. But we did not expect as this is a mid-range processor that it comes with Dual core NeuroPilot AI processing unit which will process all AI works, for example Face Unlock or camera specific features perfectly. Also all common AI frameworks such as Tensor-flow, Tensor-flow Light, CAFFE and CAFFE 2 etc will get complete support.

Battery

In battery the 12nm process helps a lot. But apart from that here is CorePilot 4.0 technology that gives heat optimization performance during heavy load which decides how much power to distribute to whom. So all tasks in the smartphone works perfectly and you can get best power efficiency.

Imaging

Good camera is so much important in any smartphone this time and Dual cameras have been so common. MediaTek Helio P60 has a TriCore ISP which supports 16MP+24MP dual camera and 32MP single camera with 3840X2160 video capture resolution.

Connectivity

The most in stereo ext part in this processor is Dual 4G VoLTE. If you wish to put two 4G VoLTE nano sims in the sim slot then MediaTek Helio P60 will also support this which is very good thing.

Now apart from this all the basic items if we talk about MediaTek fast charge-ability then we will also clearly get support. Here in India Oppo has  Launched their new smartphone Oppo F7 which comes with MediaTek Helio P60 and in near future a lot of phones may come with this new MediaTek processor. Also in Benchmark the score of this processor is 1.4 Lacking which is very much ahead of Snapdragon 660. On the paper this new processor from MediaTek is totally up to the mark and we have to see how good this processor perform in upcoming smartphones.
